The Dallas Red Cross chapter understands the current market demands of utilizing social media tools including Facebook, blogs, and YouTube. The Dallas chapter utilizes social media tools to build awareness about the chapter, local disaster events, aftermath, and recovery efforts.
Beyond spreading necessary messages, social media tools are not held to certain limitations like previous forms of communication. In a Channel 33 television interview, Anita Foster, Senior Communications Officer, mentioned that the additional capability for social media tools is that each is able to provide information in the event of disabled cell and LAN phone lines during disaster recovery.
The Dallas chapter will continue to meet dynamic market demands by providing a variety of information outlets designed to be both timely and convenient.
