Here Comes the Heat!

After a wild weather ride for the past 48 hours, North Texans must now get ready to deal with sweltering temperatures. With more than 120,000 people still without power after this weeks round of wind and rain, make sure you have a good plan on how to stay cool today!

Here are some good ideas if your power is out:
  • Go see a movie.
  • Hop in a pool and work on your tan.
  • Visit a library, recreation center or shopping mall.
  • Hang out with friends and family (if they have power) and get caught up on all of life's vents.
Use the power outage as a test to see how long you can go without charging or checking your Blackberry or iPhone! Okay, we know this one is going to be really hard, but you can do it!

If you know of someone who might be at risk because of the high temperatures, go get them and bring them back to your house! This is especailly true if you have elderly friends, relatives or neighbors, or if you know someone who has very young children. These are the most at-risk for heat emergencies.

If we all work together and help each other, we'll make it through this latest round of crazy Texas weather!
