On Tuesday, April 3, 2012, a total of 17 tornadoes touched down in the Metroplex. This incredible storm brought people together across our widespread region, as we saw homes as far west as Johnson County destroyed and similar damage on the very eastern side of the DFW area in Forney, TX. Families in these areas were now facing trials similar to people in cities such as Lancaster and Arlington, who were now sorting through the remains of their homes for anything that might be left for them to take into the next chapter of their lives. The Red Cross was there, opening shelters the very night of the storm and serving over 9,000 meals and 31,000 snacks and beverages to victims and relief workers throughout the early stages of our operation. The Red Cross was able to serve this diverse group of people through the equally diverse contributions and donations from our corporate partners.

The companies and organizations below reached out to the Red Cross and gave us support through financial and in-kind donations so we could in turn bolster our community in this trying time. The Red Cross salutes these companies for believing in our work and being there for us so we can be there for DFW.
