What will we think up next?
Well, I'm glad you asked.
Perhaps a leading edge way to contact a lot of people at once when blood is needed without relying on media to disseminate the message. Well, that’s just what we did.
The Red Cross Blood Services, South Central Division announced yesterday a new mobile media program that sends text messages about vital blood inventory levels, tips on a successful blood donation, early notification on new promotions, and allows subscribers to make their next donation appointment or locate a nearby blood drive.
How cool is that?!
I have already signed up since I’m a veteran. If you want to be cool like me you have two options to subscribe to the Red Cross texts:
- Send a text to 42227
- Register at bloodisneeded.org
However, if you want to save a life the “old school” way, you are more than welcome to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-488-3543) or visit bloodisneeded.org.
